One Icy Morning

I woke up this morning, quite late I must add, to the younger children outside playing in the ice.

During the night it had frozen over and there were small patches of ice here and there between the mud and water.
Its not quite the winter wonderland of your dreams (something you hardly expect to find in Texas!), but my little brothers don’t seem to mind. They are content to find everything from food trays to laundry baskets to sled on, only to find that as they ran and threw themselves down for a wonderful ride they came to a complete stop- before starting.
After getting out of my warm bed I finaly came to the kitchen to find my dad making a good breakfast of sausage, eggs, and tortillas (Texas style!).

Playing in the ice was not as appealing to me as it was to some younger than myself so I didn’t play in it much, but you can’t help to see how children take things as they are. Instead of spending all their time complaining about the ice (or lack of it) they tried to find the best way to play in it.

I think this can be related to the verse in the Bible that says;

“Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”Matt 18;3

So, just as little children seem to find joy in the smallest things and accept them as they are, without complaining (or at least not as much as some) so we must humbly accept what the Lord sends are way, like little children, without complaining, and;

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.” James 1;6

As little children ask in faith believing their Heavenly Father and taking Him at His word, let us also be like little children.
